Dakota Neff Pd. 5th- I found it interesting how the Mr.Copeland bought Amos, but didn't use him as a slave. He took him in to help around the house. Not to be abused and mistreated. I thought it was very kind of him. I really liked how they (Mr.Copeland and his family) were able to teach Amos how to read and write. And to even speak! That would be really hard. Katt Woodring 1st period. I find it interesting how Amos always gets kind slave keepers who won't abuse him like others would.
Dakota Neff Pd. 5th- I agree. I thought it was a really cool thing that Amos did for poor slave women. Even if they were in poor condition, Amos would buy them from their slave owners. So the when they died, they could die free. Amos has so far spent a lot of money on buying his wives. But it is still thoughtful.
